Day 4 - Practice day!

I have no idea how long I was doing this one. Drew and erased again and again and again until I got somewhat comfortable drawing an ellipse in one or two strokes. I'm doing this every day before drawing from now on. No new struggles there. Just plain practice.

Tomorrow I'll put this to the test and revisit some previous challenges. Tomorrow's focus will be:

CONSTRUCTION AND SPHERES

Day 3 - Another reference

I wasn't expecting this to be so challenging. Picture of legos was supposed to be an easy practice. This exercise was very revealing ( at this point I feel like anything is revealing ). It brought my attention to 3rd point of perspective. Although It was fun drawing construction lines and working with simple shapes it got messy super fast! I traced the front wheel and struggled with the other.

Today I discovered I struggle with curves, ellipses and organic objects. The drawing was so messy at one point I couldn't see what was going where, making me confused and making mistakes.

My next focus will be:

ELLIPSES

Day 2 - Challenge day

Today I was using a reference picture. This is my bathroom. Try to guess where I was at the time of drawing. Really happy with how it turned out. It took a massive... amount of time to finish it. I encountered a lot of obstacles but pushed through and finished it.

My most prominent struggles were with very sharp/wide angles, curves and shading, perspective and ellipses. I liked playing with the colors :)

Deciding that a lot of the subjects are a bit advanced I decided to focus on getting the basics right. Next time I'll work on:

SHAPES IN PERSPECTIVE

Day 1 - Playing around

This was the first day so I wanted to just play around and see where I'm currently sitting with drawing and using perspective. No tutorials were read or watched. I did this exercise to learn what I need to work on and it revealed a lot. I tried to observe myself reacting to my drawing. I was noting in my head what I liked the most about it and what was disappointing and frustrating. This helped me decide what to focus on next time draw. Challenge yourself and overcome!

There was a lot to improve on to say the least. I picked one main frustration and decided my challenge for the next day would be:

FINISHING THE DAMN PIECE
